Marco Polo Restaurant - page 3 of 3

"To ensure the authenticity of the pictorial material used in the decor, depicting the travels of Marco Polo, researches were made and material obtained from the British Museum, the Royal Asiatic Society and the National Geographical Society, in London, from the Bibliotheque Nationale in Paris, from the Marciano Library in Venice, from the Bodleian Library in Oxford and the Hong Kong University."

"ILLUMINATION
In the Marco Polo restaurant the most restful atmosphere has been created by the lighting installation.  This has been achieved by the even distribution of light, eliminating glare or harsh contrast."
"Warm light tubes were used in the lounge to illuminate the map showing the itinerary of Marco Polo's journey."
"The intensity and colour changes of light are controlled by an electronic dimmer."
"The switch box connected to the dimmer is placed on the right of the grand piano, so that the orchestra leader can easily and readily change the colour and intensity of light to suit the mood and variety of the performance."
"Spot lights are mounted on the columns for floorshows and solo numbers."
