With permission, I have copied this photo from a Hong Kong FB group. Exact provenance is unknown, but it was apparently taken in 1931. The road at the front is Caroline Hill Road, Causeway Bay, near the intersection with Link Road. In the distance is the Lee Theatre, and in the mid-ground is Po Leung Kuk . The house in the foreground appears in another Gwulo photo from a few years ago, showing the junction of Caroline Hill and Link Roads in the 1940s, but from a different direction. Silverwood apartments now stand on this site at 109 Caroline Hill Road. Perhaps this house was also called Silverwood? It may be that there were many houses like this at the time and it was not anything special, but still curious to know its history and who lived there.
