In the foreground is my father, Reggie Warren standing with his brother Leslie Warren. They seem to be very overdressed for a beach party, but perhaps it was winter. Would this be Big Wave Bay? Please let me know.

There looks to be a long…
There looks to be a long white wall in the background, which doesn't match the appearance of the beach at Big Wave Bay:
I think I can also see a camera on the sand at the left edge of the photo.
Beach with white wall
I was too quick to assume that the photo would have been taken on a beach that the Warren family usually frequented. Does anyone have any ideas about a beach with a white wall? I don't think any of the other Warren photos shows one. The date is c. 1927. Reggie Warren is holding a film, so it could well be a camera on the ground nearby. I think that another photo taken on the same occasion on a different part of the same beach shows a primitive matshed.
Re: Another Photo
Suggest to post the other photo over here for comparison and possible identification.
Matshed
I don't think it will help us as it only shows the interior of the matshed and a little bit of grass in front. There isn't any view of the actual beach.
The shadows are relatively…
The shadows are relatively long. So it's either very early in the morning or late afternoon.
I'm betting it is the latter if they are both overdressed: Reggie casually barefoot and Leslie wearing leather shoes and glass drink in hand. That means the sun is setting to the left bottom corner of the photo (west). We are looking at a predominantly north-ish facing beach. That really rules out a lot of beaches in Hong Kong.
Re: Photo
I had been thinking the scene could be Cheung Chau. If Jill has a photo of the exterior of the matshed, that may help.
