Another photo from the album of William Richmond Fell. I had thought that "Hongs" were rowing teams as in WRF's photo of Titania's "Hong", but that doesn't seem to be the case here. Ideas welcome.

Hong
Wikipedia to the rescue: In Hong Kong, the name hong is used to designate major business houses. Source: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hong_(business)
Moddsey's comment on your photo Titania Hong Four includes:
One of the featured rowing races was the 4th Submarine Flotilla Cup beween Hong and Services Fours over a one mile course. Details of the rowing races can be viewed in the China Mail on 30 April 1928. See here and scroll to Page 11.
Four teams participated. 1st - 2nd Btn Scots Guards, 2nd - Butterfield & Swire, 3rd - Hong Kong Electric and 4th - HMS Titania.
I that case the Services teams were 2nd Btn Scots Guards, and HMS Titania, and the Hong teams were Butterfield & Swire, and Hong Kong Electric.
Perhaps the people in the sailing & rowing boats in the scene above worked for the Hongs?
Hong = Business/Company
Thank you, David. That makes absolute sense.
1928 Yacht Club's Closing Cruise
The program for the Yacht Club's Closing Cruise held on 28 April 1928 included sailing and rowing races. The participants are also mentioned in the China Mail.
One may be viewing the culmination of a sailing race with spectators and yacht club officials/members in attendance.
