Thank you for this informative article. I understand there was a great shortage of accommodation in the post-war period. When my mother had her portrait sketched by Kluge as a schoolgirl around this time, she was visiting his young nieces, who I believed lived near her home on Cameron Road. Their Uncle Constantin happened to be there too. Perhaps he had moved in with his brother's family temporarily while looking for somewhere else to live.
