Kate and Jean McBurney. The McBurneys were joint first owners with the Scott sisters of House #2, Kwun Yam Wan, Cheung Chau in 1907. They were missionaries with the Reformed Presbyterian Church, North America serving in inland China.
Dr Kate Mc Burney later transferred to the BCMS and took over the running of the Emmanuel Hospital, Nanning, in 1925 when Dr Harry Lechmere Clift moved to Hong Kong, with his wife Winifred.
