North Wing of the Hongkong Hotel is on the left, Pedder's Wharf (3rd gen) is in the foreground centre. The matshed roof has been removed, possibly because the pier wasn't in use any more. Moddsey wrote  "On 27 June 1894, the temporary timber wharf opposite Ice House St was opened to traffic and the wharf known as Pedder's Wharf was closed." Therefore the date should be late 1894 or at some time in 1895.
