The Central Liaison Office was a government agency established in August 1945 in Tokyo, Japan after the end of WWII. Its establishment was at the request of the Supreme Commander for the Allied Powers (GHQ/SCAP) to serve as a liaison organization between GHQ/SCAP and the Japanese government, in order to convey occupation policies and act as a conduit for GHQ/SCAP to issue instructions to the Japanese government.
