Hi Alan - Many years ago, I typed out a long list of ANS nurses that had completed 96 hours of hospital training from the 1940/41 newspapers. The list can be viewed here

I noticed a legible signature, Flo Cartwright. Probably Florence Cartwright, position about ten o' clock from bottom right corner on the Day Joyce sheet.

Thank you for Moddsey's research and finding Florence Cartwright's signature. However, my knowledge about her history is limited. For now, information about her may be found in the John Black's list of Stanley Camp internees and HongKongWarDiary.com.

  • John Black's list of Stanley Camp internees :
Surname Initial Title     DoB Sex Profession
Cartwright F Miss 1909 F Stenographer
  • HongKongWarDiary.com - Uniformed Civilians :

Cartwright, Miss F.D. (La Salle Relief Hospital)

I appreciate the Imperial War Museums digitizing their collections, which allows everyone to more easily study the Day Joyce sheet and discover interesting individuals' signatures. Since there are so many names, I can only identify a limited number. Perhaps you could record the signatures you've identified on gwulo.com as a reference for research?

Noted your comments. Likewise, my knowledge of the lady is also limited. That said, I have created a person profile for her with the limited information available.
