Our first view of Major Manners, amongst others. I'm assuming the naming goes from left to right. But I'm wondering if the profile of Edgar de Chaffoy in the Orient Tobacco Manuf. garden is closer to the figure on the left. Needs enhancing.
Regarding enhancing the image, I asked a computer technician about these low resolution images and he said one cannot really enhance them because they are scanned on a black & white scanner. Need to get a copy of the original newspaper and scan it on a colour scanner.
He also explained that organisations like Internet Archive scan hundreds of old newspapers in low resolution because it does not take up as much data and is also cheaper.
