The ship in the background is HMS Alacrity / F60.
She first arrived in Hong Kong on 19th Sep 1945, and left in August 1952 sailing to Portsmouth. After several years in Rserve status, she arrived at the breaker's yard in Dec 1956. (Source: http://www.naval-history.net/xGM-Chrono-18SL-HMS_Alacrity.htm)
So the photo was taken sometime between 1945 and 1952.
