Agree with T. This is the campus of the Chinese University. The railway line cuts through a hill which was flattened during the 1960s for reclamation purposes. There is a similar photo from 1972. There the flattened hill is covered with green plants which are not yet there in the original photo. My guess for the original photo is c.1970.

There is railway there. That would make it Ma Liu Shui, the site of the Chinese University of Hong Kong. Uncertain about the time frame at the moment.

One thing about the railway is certain though. The photo showed a single track, thus likely way before it went electric.
