Sergeant  William John Woolley HKVDC died 25 March 1944 of enteritis employed by Bingham and Matthews Hong Kong

Name is Louisa Clara Woolley (no extra initial L)

Additional child (youngest) Iris Lillian Woolley (later Joyce) - was born in England.1915 - 2002

Sister Lilian Eva Heang - also know by surname Evans (which was their mother's maiden name) was also in Stanley camp.

There is an Ancestry Tree showing Chen Ah (James) Heang (1844 - ?) and wife Margaret Jane Evans (1860 - ? )  They are shown as parents of Lilian Eva Heang born 4 July 1887 in Tasmania

The are also ahown as the parents of Louisa Heang born 26 October 1880, James Heang born 2 December 1881, George Heang born 7 July 1885, and William Joseph Heang born 1889. All born in Tasmania

It's probably my tree!

Margaret Heang died 11 Feb 1899, aged 39 and is buried in Hong Kong Happy Valley Cemetery, section 5.

I haven't been able to find where or when James Heang died but my guess is in Hong Kong, and is probably after 1899 as he is named on Margaret's gravestone as Beloved wife of....

Lillian Eva died in 1958 in England - she used her mother's maiden name (Evans)

William, James and George all ended up in Queensland, Australia in the Townsville area. William died in 1978 and has descendants. James both died in 1933 and didn't marry or have descendants.

If anyone knows anything more about James Heang (Chen Ah Heang), I'd be interested to know. I have an approximate birth year of 1844 from his age given when he married Margaret Evans. He was a storekeeper in the tin mining area of North East Tasmania around the Weldborough area.

Cheers,

Helen
