Location
Although the location seems an odd one on today's map, Tymon says a 1950s map shows it was next to an area marked "Rifle Range".
That makes sense - keep explosives under lock & key at the same place where you have ammunition under guard for a rifle range.
Do any readers who were here with the RAF in the 1950s remember this site and can tell us more?

RAF Explosives Area and Rifle Range
From the map marker provided, the RAF Explosives Area is in today's Morse Park which is northwest of the former Kai Tak Airport as shown here on the map comprising War Department Lot No. 18. The Rifle Range was also situated in the area.as shown below.
I understand there was a rifle range in Kowloon City. Not sure if it was the same one near the RAF Explosives area. But anyways, a photo of the Kowloon Rifle Range as shown here circa 1937 looking towards the Kowloon hills.
