I think CQMS Edward (Teddy) Fincher was in the third draft of POWs sent to Japan early in 1943. His name appears in the list of POWs in Innoshima Camp.
Several family trees on Ancestry.com record his death on 10th October, 1969 in Nagasaki. He was presumably visiting or en route elsewhere.
Re the photo posted on 29th May showing the name “E.C.Fincher” on a shop awning, you probably already know that was Teddy Fincher’s sports shop. Bought my first cricket bat there.
