Translation of Jones's German diary entry 14.4.44
"Good weather but a lot of cloud. Ground rice flour for bread. Singing practice. With Steve afterwards. Eve there as well. Wrote postcard to Mary's mother."
(Is this the Mary for whom Jones was grinding rice on 4/2/44 and 6/2/44? Do we have a surname for her?)
Jill
Mary
We believe she is Mary Stevens, wife of "Steve" whose name is E. J. Stevens. I haven't found his full name.
I hope one day we'll hear from the Stevens family. I asked R E Jones' daughter Rae if she remembers them, but she doesn't.
Regards, David
