This one is definitely genuine. The stairs are made of wood.
Copy cat shop house at 6 Stewart Road, Wanchai [????- ]
This one is just for your comparison. This one is definitely more modern, but the style remained similar to those three story blocks, ie, Guangzhou style shop houses. I wouldn't mind living in one of these copy cats, or even one of the original ones, provided I could afford it. With suitable acoustics material and the tall ceiling it would be great to match it with some valves amplifiers and planar speakers.
