Another daughter of Arthur Sallis who was present in the camp.

A daughter of missionaries, Margaret Jaffray was born in the mission field in 1907. She received her early education at the Chefoo School in North China, a Christian British-style boarding school, and visited her parents during the winter months. Later, she attended high school in Toronto, completed a business course, and then returned to China to work as her father’s secretary, all while learning Chinese. 

Sophie Ellis was a cafe owner. 

Sophie came from a large family. Together with her sisters, Leontine and Grace, they enlisted in the HKVDC, Nursing Detachment. After the fall of Hong Kong, the sisters and their brother, Frederick Ellis were interned at Stanley Camp.

Sophie and members of the Ellis family were repatriated to England after the Japanese surrender. Sophie and Grace returned to Hong Kong in 1947.

In 1941 Grace Ellis was the proprietress of the Chantecler Restaurant on G/F, 172-176 Nathan Road. 

Grace Ellis came from a large family. Together with her sisters, Leontine and Sophie, they enlisted in the HKVDC, Nursing Detachment. After the fall of Hong Kong, the sisters and their brother, Frederick Ellis were interned at Stanley Camp.

Takashi Sakai was an Officer of the Japanese Army. 

He led the attack on Hong Kong in December 1941.  From 25 December 1941 to 20 February 1942, he was the Governor of Hong Kong (under Japanese occupation). 

In 1946, he was arrested and extradited to China. He was accused at the Nanjing War Crimes Tribunal and was sentenced to death for his responsibility for murdering Chinese civilians. He was executed by firing squad on September 30, 1946.

Emelia Rose Rosselet married Harvey Leroy Decker, of the Motoring Department, Hong Kong & Shanghai Hotels  on 17 August 1928 in Hong Kong. China Mail of the same day refers.

Brother Cassian served the Brothers of the Christian Schools - La Salle (De La Salle Brothers). He taught at St. Joseph's College from 1921 before being transferred to the newly opened La Salle College in 1932 as second Principal. 

I think his name/signature appears  under "La Salle College" (La Salle Relief Hospital) on the left on the "Day Joyce Sheet" held by the Imperial War Museum. 

Faith Mary Snuggs was a Baptist missionary teacher. She came from a missionary family, was schooled in the United States and served alongside her parents in South China. 

After her British missionary father, Edward Thomas Snuggs had passed away in Fort Bayard, South China in 1938, Faith Snuggs later relocated to Hong Kong.

During the Battle of Hong Kong, she was stationed at La Salle Relief Hospital. After the fall of Hong Kong, she was interned at Stanley Camp.
