Born in Shanghai, China. Discrepancy detected in month of birth on Gripsholm passenger list and obituary. Interned with parents and brother at Stanley Camp. Repatriated in 1942.

In 1941, Edward Hospes was the general agent of Canadian Pacific Steamships in Hong Kong. Together with his wife and two sons, they were interned in Stanley Camp and in 1942 repatriated to the United States

After the end of the Pacific war, Hospes returned to Hong Kong to his former post at Canadian Pacific Steamships. In 1949, Hospes exchanged positions with George E Costello and became the general passenger agent of Canadian Pacific Railway at Vancouver.

Father Michael J. Hogan served the Maryknoll Mission. He went to China in 1923 and was assigned to the Kongmoon (Jiangmen) mission in Kwangtung (Guangdong). Later he was transferred to Hong Kong due to rising Sino-Japanese hostilities in Guangdong. 

After the fall of Hong Kong, he was arrested by the Japanese in the Maryknoll Mission in Stanley and later interned at Stanley Camp. Father Hogan was repatriated with other Americans in 1942.

In the 1941 Jurors List, Reuben Dwight Hill was the manager of the shipping company, Mollers (Hong Kong) Ltd. He had a son by the same name that was raised in Hong Kong.

Reuben Dwight Hill was interned at Stanley Camp and repatriated to the United States in 1942.

Allen Leslie Ham was a Seventh-Day Adventist missionary and went to Hong Kong in 1913. He became the Superintendent of the Cantonese Mission and later the South China Union Mission (1935-1942). 

He was interned at Stanley Camp and repatriated to the United States in 1942.

Rev. Clyde Henry Herndon was an American missionary. Herndon, his wife and young son left Vancouver in 1934 for China to work and serve in the Pentecostal Holiness Mission in Pakhoi (Beihai), Guangdong.  Due to the Sino-Japanese hostilities, his wife and son left China in 1939. 

Ernest Rea Hearther appears in the 1936 Jurors List and thereafter as working for the Dollar Steamship Line. Interned in Stanley Camp and repatriated to the United States in 1942.

In 1942, "Stan" Healey, formerly with the Dollar SS Lines, and during the past few years with Canadian National Railway in Japan and Hongkong was repatriated on the Gripsholm.
