1961 Hong Kong at Kowloon City Pier - child abandoned is looking for her parents
Not to be confused with his father of the same name.
Alfred Ernest Ablong was in the Volunteers andd he appears on a Colonial Office list of POWs in Shamshuipo as Ablong A. E. Jnr., HKVDC Corporal 2468.
At some point after the war he migrated to the USA and died in Glendale California.

I'm looking for photos / sketches / portraits of him for the CPS project's history book.
The book, "Twentieth century impressions of ...", published in 1908, says he had been appointed to be the second Police Magistrate in 1901 (though he'd been in that role as 'acting second Police Magistrate' since 1900:

An American chiropractor. In WW2 he was initially interned in Stanley Camp, then was sponsored to be allowed to live outside camp, then was re-interned but in Ma Tau Wai camp (see comments below).
