If you look at this on the 1952 map, you can see its original outline: a long, shallow creek. A sheltered spot, it was a popular mooring place for sampans, as shown in the older photos.

Both shorelines have been reclaimed so now the only sign of the old creek is an open concrete channel that carries the river to the Aberdeen Harbour.
