A rain storm - and our party #3 promptly obeyed the fall in.  Marched out under the mocking eyes of the other parties only to be dismissed on the parade ground!

Rose looked a bit sheepish when he found out that we were the only party who acted in this foolish manner.

The outdoor working party did not go out but their will be one tomorrow- Friday.

"The Result to Our March in the Rain"

Splashing manfully thro' the water,
on the dauntless party goes.
Neither gives nor asks for quarter
bravely led by Harry Rose.

Alone they brave the torrents changes
all alone they dare the tide
with Dodwell's clogs for landing barges
better never built on Clyde.

Heed they not their jeering comarades
"To obey" is all their ken,
Neath the sodden singlets clingling
beat the hearts of soldier men.

There they stand admidst the thunder
[Never shall such glory fade]
But hark! The air is rent asunder
by the notes of "No Parade".

Brave harts, be not disillusioned
though it is a bloody farce
that such valour sh'd be wasted
on a cancelled "chicken arse".
