Uncle Richard was my dad's older brother. They were both in the 'Volunteers' and were captured by the Japanese and shipped off to Sendai 2. His nickname was Calinho. He was married before the war to Hazel Harris. The Harris family were interned in Stanley by the Japanese. Uncle Richard, his wife Hazel and their son Robert migrated to Australia (Melbourne) in the early 60s (correction, their son Robert had been attending boarding school in Australia since the mid 50s). Uncle Richard passed away in 1978.  His son Robert passed away in late 2019 in Melbourne.

Thanks Bob, we have a page for Hazel already, but I didn't know her married name, so it's good to make the connection. Their wedding was reported on page 7 of Hong Kong Telegraph 1940-10-11:

KOWLOON WEDDING

A lovely bouquet of orchids and jasmine was carried by Miss Hazel Jean Harris yesterday when she was married to Mr. Ricardo Domingos Silva at St. Teresa’s Church.

She looked charming in a gown of white chantilly lace with long train, trimmed with orange blossoms. Her two bridesmaids added a touch of colour with their frocks of shell pink silk net trimmed with forget-me-nots and satin. They were the Misses Rosalie Harris (the bride's sister), and Miss Beatrice Silva (the bridegroom's sister). Their headdresses were of pink and blue forget-me-nots, and their bouquets were composed of pink roses.

The bride's  mother was present in a smart dress of turquoise blue with a corsage of white gardenias,

Mr. George B. Harris, the bride's eldest brother, gave his sister away in marriage, and Mr. Roberto Silva attended his brother as best man.

After the ceremony the happy couple received the congratulations and good wishes of their friends at the bridegroom's residence. Later, Mrs. Silva changed into a beautiful creation in a rich shade of cardinal, with which she wore a small, veil-trimmed brown hat, and brown accessories. The honeymoon is to be spent at Repulse Bay.
