The Bradbury Retreat Centre of the Hong Kong Christian Service is located in Cheung Chau, a 10-15 minute walk from the pier. The original villa building is believed to have served missionaries and the church for over 120 years.
The centre, a standalone bungalow with a Western-style design, enjoys a tranquil and elegant setting overlooking the mountains and the sea. It is available for rental by individuals, community groups, and churches for retreats, conferences, or vacations.
The centre is surrounded by gardens and trees. The promenade in the front garden is a place for campers to gather or rest. There are barbecue areas in the side gardens on both sides, and the back garden overlooks Cheung Chau Tung Wan.
The building features a living room and three guest rooms, each with 10 bunk beds, accommodating 3-20 people. While the centre does not provide meals, the pantry is equipped with a refrigerator, electric kettle, microwave, induction cooker, and rice cooker for campers to heat simple meals.
The centre now houses theological students from mainland China attending Kin Tao Theological Seminary, contributing to their theological education and spiritual formation.
