1906 The Duke of Connaught visits Hong Kong

HRH Prince Arthur of Connaught visited Hong Kong on his journey to Japan to invest the Emperor Meiji with the Order of the Garter.

[He traveled on board the P&O Liner SS Dongola on her maiden voyage. This ship was frequently chartered to the British Admiralty in later years (see here).]

On 9 February 1906, HRH landed at Blake Pier where he was met by the officials and leading citizens of Hong Kong.  The following activities were speeches, receptions, dinner, performances, excursions etc.

On 11 February 1906, HRH left Hong Kong.
