William Forrest Dudman served in HKVDC as Battery Quartermaster Sergeant 4069 in the 5th (A.A.) Battery. He was mobilised the evening before the attack on Hong Kong and later witnessed the bombing of Kai Tak Airfield.
William Dudman was taken prisoner-of-war and interned at Sham Shui Po Camp. He was later shipped to Japan and spent time in Nagoya and Toyama POW Camps.
Pre-war he was manager of the spare parts department of the Far East Aviation Company. Post-war he continued with the company and became manager and principal of the Far East Flying Training School.
