In November 1938 the HK newspapers report the marriage of Winnifred May Marsh to  Adam Gray Dalziel. They were both in Stanley Camp in different billets. I'm puzzled by the reference to Freddie? Unless that was a nickname for Winnifred May Dalziel. Philip Cracknell

I realise now that Freddie is the nickname for  Winnifred.  Vera Joan Thwaites was better known in Hong Kong by her married name of Vera Armstrong.  She was a good friend to the controversial Emily (Micky)n Hahn. Vera Armstrong, her husband, Harold,  and Winnifred (Freddie) and her husband, Gray Dalziel were all interned at Stanley Camp (1942-45). Rgds, Philip Cracknell
