He is listed on page J102 of the 1939 Blue Book as working in the government's Wireless and Broadcasting Department as a Wireless Engineer. He started work there on 2nd Dec 1938.

This group were sent to Ma Tau-wai camp in Kowloon and from there he was involved in the efforts to restore radio communication between Hong Kong and the outside world.
