Henry Ching writes:

Iris Audrey Frith worked for many years as the Matron at the Diocesan Boys’ School after the war.

Idris Audrey Prew died on May 6, 1978 in the Lewisham district of London - probably living at the address in Catford owned by her family before and after the war.

In 1946  nine people were living at this house, including members of the Broadbridge family, but after Mrs Prew finally returned from Hong Kong in 1956 the inhabitants were from three interlinked families: the Prews, the Friths and the Brocketts.

In the 1950s and early 1960s my mother, another Hong Kong Eurasian, was a regular visitor to the house for mah-jong sessions.

Her wedding was described on page 15 of The China Mail, 1936-12-24:

PRETTY KOWLOON WEDDING

PREW-FRITH

RECEPTION AT THE D.B.S.

A very pretty wedding was solemnised at St. Andrew’s Church yesterday afternoon, the contracting parties being Miss Iris Audrey Frith, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. C. E. Frith of London, and Mr. Albert G. F. Prew of the Diocesan Boys’ School. The Rev. C. B. R. Sargent, M. A. Headmaster of the Diocesan Boys’ School, officiated, assisted by the Rev. J. R. Higgs, vicar of St Andrew’s Church.

The bride was given away in marriage by Mr. G. Coysh and looked very pretty in an ivory satin gown with long pleated sleeves, cowl collar and peacock train. She wore a hand-made Brussels lace veil with orange blossoms, and carried a bouquet of white roses (sheaf).

The bridesmaid was Miss Evelyn Bolt who wore a pink satin dress with puff sleeves trimmed with roses, made from the same material. She carried a beautiful bouquet of salmon coloured gladioli. Miss Margaret Bolt was the flower girl and wore a pale blue satin dress of the Victorian style. The flower girl's bouquet was a posy of African daisies.

Mr. B. J. M. Monks was the best man, while Mr. B. Baldwin officiated at the organ. A reception was held, after the ceremony, at the Diocesan Boys’ School, a large number of friends gathering to offer their felicitations.

The honeymoon is being spent at Repulse Bay, the bride’s going-away dress being of light brown material.
