Roxy Theatre / 樂聲戲院 [1949-1974]

Current condition:
Demolished / No longer exists
Date Place completed:
c.1949-01-01 (Month, Day are approximate)
Date Place demolished:

Key dates from Raymond Lo via Cinema Treasures:

  • 1949: Roxy Theatre opened.

The current building is named 'Lok Sing Centre'. I guess the Cantonese 'Lok Sing' is the sound-alike for 'Roxy'.

80s Kid - An interesting photo. Particularly with the tram turning the corner to join, I think, Hennessy Road. I guess the photo was taken at the junction of Canal Road East and Hennessy Road.

Lok Sing is the Cantonese pronunciation of  the Roxy Theatre.
