He is listed as the best friend of my great uncle, Achille George Dann (Dandria) who died on 7/12/44 in Stanley internment camp, but I cannot find any information on him.

The only F C Atkinson that I can find with a Hong Kong link is

Passenger List  departing Hong Kong  in 1912 to Honolulu en route to San Francisco

Frank C Atkinson 45 married  American born about 1867. The date of birth does not match your age for him

Did your F C Atkinson  remain in Hong Kong post-war?

Age 62 when interred or interned?

Sorry, my mistake - interned, not interred.

As far as I can find, Atkinson survived the camp, and you are correct his DOB doesn't match.

Interestingly, before being sent to Stanley, my great uncle, Mr A G Dann was held in room 305 of the Stag Hotel, which was next door to Mr Atkinson.  I wonder if they met then, or whether they were friends before that.

Frank Crossley Atkinson born in Shipley Yorkshire  in 1878.   In 1901 he was living with parents in Bradford Yorkshire aged 22 electrical engineer.

1891 Census UK

Beatriss (sic) Atkinson 25 GONE TO USA

Canada  Records

He made his Naturalisation Claim in Niagara Falls Canada  on 2 July 1942 and said he was married   on  19 September 1904 in Sheffield Yorkshire to Beatrice and that their children were Winifred, Helen and Donald.

These are the only Frank Atkinsons that I can link to Hong Kong . Was Frank C Atkinson repatriated?
