Year completed is: Approximate Condition at last visit: Demolished Date of last visit: Jul-1998 Ref: ROB-00664 Other: Unusual shape. Damaged/abandoned. 2 Lyon Lights on roof.
It was in quite a bit of action, both being heavily shelled, and in return firing on boats in the harbour. It was a rarity, as it had four loopholes, and two LL's back to back on the roof. Sgt Moody, the commander, wrote a report after the surrender in which he noted damage to the PB and LL's, and I have seen a poor quality photo taken by the Japanese shortly after the surrender which shows a very tatty PB, with considerable concrete damage and the shutters of one LL mostly missing.
