This pillbox was heavily targeted by Japanese artillery during the siege of Hong Kong Island during the Battle of Hong Kong. When the Japanese landed on the 18th, they bombarded this pillbox with mortars. Some of the damage can be seen on this pillbox, with chunks of concrete missing, and shrapnel marks evident.
