Sue Harding writes:
My husband's Gt. Uncle was in the Hong Kong Police and interned at Stanley camp; his name was Donald Brown.
Just this weekend we have been handed some letters he wrote to his sister in India while he was a prisoner.
After the war he remained in the Police, eventually emigrating to New Zealand.
We'd be interested to hear anything about life in the camp, especially from anyone here with a connection to Donny or other Police internees.
I discovered on another website, that he may have been detained in Namking Hotel - does that rings bells with anyone here?
Tony Banham:
I can confirm that Mr Brown was at the Nanking Hotel before being transferred to Stanley.
In Stanley he shared room 12/30 with three other policemen.
