Completion date from point 44 in the PWD Annual report for 1902. The report also notes that the new building was built on the site of the earlier No 7. Police Station.

A newspaper report of an accidental death at the Sailors' Home in 1925 (China Mail, 6.8.1925) shows that Police Station No.7 and the Sailors' Home were at that date separate premises, since police are summoned to the Sailors' Home when the body was found. My hunch is that it was only after the Sailors' Home was shifted to the HK Seamen's Institute on Johnston Rd in 1930 that it got taken over for quarters for policemen.
