After this staue was moved, a statue of King Edward VII was erected in its place (see http://gwulo.com/node/13514).
The statue was presented to the colony by the Honourable Sir Catchick Paul Chater CMG and unveiled by H.E. Major General Sir Wm Julius Gascoigne KCMG, Officer Administering the Government
