I think the lady mentioned above was Violet White (née Studdert), the wife of Simon Edward Hedges Eyre White who was Lieutenant-Colonel and Commanding Officer of 2nd Bn The Royal Scots.

Violet White was previously married to a Martin Edward Patrick White in 1911. From 13 July 1911, her married name became White.

In 1931, Martin White passed away. In the same year she married Simon White. Violet may have styled her name as Violet Simon-White after her second marriage to avoid confusion regarding her married surname.

She was born in 1890 and died on 30 December 1968. In the Carl Smith Archive, it is mentioned that she was interned at Stanley Camp whilst her husband, Lt. Col. Simon White was a POW at Argyle Street Camp.

In: https://www.theroyalscots.co.uk/2nd-world-war-ww2/ it is mentioned "In the summer of 1940 all The Royal Scots families, some 40 in total, with the exception of one or two wives who were members of the Nursing Detachment of the Volunteers, were evacuated to Australia." I think Violet Simon-White would have certainly been one of the wives who stayed behind.

The Quartermaster of the Nursing Detachment, V. White mentioned in https://gwulo.com/node/20823 is very likely Violet Simon-White.

Yes, there was a discrepancy in the year of her birth.

I noted:

a) Burkes Peerage did not give an actual date of birth but only an approximation of Violet White having been "born in 1890".

b) Violet was first married in 1911. Based on the year of marriage, it would appear that she was older than her second husband, Lt. Col. Simon White.

c) Simon White returned a "Liberation Questionairre/POW Card" post war with details of year of birth, enlistment etc. No record of Violet White having completed one.

I could not account for Ron Bridge's year of birth for Violet White.

However, I did view on: https://www.myheritage.com/research? that if one were to type in her maiden name, "Violet Studdert", there is a match in the year of birth and death being 1890 and 1968 respectively. Census of Ireland: 1901 and 1911

The 1890 works better for her marriage in 1911, so I've updated her dates to match the myheritage entry you found.
