DoB from John Black's list, which gives Mr Newton's occupation in 1941 as "Medical Officer".

Item 370 in the Government Gazette for 1941 reports his appointment as a Surgical Specialist:

No. 370 .—His Excellency the Governor has been pleased, under instructions from the Right Honourable the Secretary of State for the Colonies, to appoint Isaac Newton, F.R.C.S. (Edin.), M.R.C.S. (Eng.), L.R.C.P. (Lond.) to be Surgical Specialist, with effect from 1st April, 1941.

I wonder if anyone has seen the personal papers of Dr I.Newton in the London Imperial War Museum and able to comment if they are factual 'diary' type or more detailed re his life in HK and/or Camp. Or indeed if anyone has any more information re him.  He is noted as being at my grandfather's funeral (K.K.Staple) and I presume my grandmother (Joan Staple) would have worked with alongside him in camp. Grateful for any links.
