The photo gives a clear view of buildings on Hong Kong Island. Between the ships’ masts, high on the hillside, the four blocks of Mount Nickolson Government Quarters are all visible. They were completed in 1962.
Again between the masts, but now on the Wanchai waterfront, the two tallest buildings are the Luk Kwok Hotel, and its next-door neighbour, Redifussion House. On the left of Redifussion House is a space where Sheung On House would appear. It was completed on 1 June 1964. Assuming it would have taken at least six months for Sheung On House to go from invisible to complete, the pic was taken in or before late 1963.
So, the photo was taken in 1962 or 1963.
