Yung Ning (永寧軍艦) was an Admirable-class minesweeper of the Republic of China Navy (ROCN). She was originally commissioned into the United States Navy as USS Magnet (AM-260) in March 1944.
On 28 August 1945, the ship was decommissioned by the U.S. Navy in Miami and transferred (initially on loan) to the Republic of China Navy as part of the “Eight Ships from America” (美收八艦) program. She was renamed Yung Ning and used to train Chinese naval personnel in the United States. Full permanent ownership was formally transferred to the ROC Navy in early 1948.
After returning to China, Yung Ning participated in minesweeping, escort, and combat operations during the Chinese Civil War. In 1949, she retreated with Nationalist forces to Taiwan.
On 27 January 1958, while on a mission, Yung Ning ran aground on a reef off Green Island (Lüdao / 綠島, also known as Fireburn Island). The damage was so severe that the ship could not be salvaged. The crew was safely evacuated, and the vessel was officially decommissioned and dismantled on site on 1 March 1958.
