Kowloon Canton Railway opened for traffic - 1 October 1910

On 1 October 1910 the Kowloon Canton Railway (KCR) was finally opened for traffic, this photo was taken near the Lowu area, in the photo was Sir Henry May, the Officer Administering the Government in the absence of Governor Sir Frederick Lugard.

Also in the photo, was the Director of the Guangzhou-Kowloon Railway, Engr Wei Han 魏瀚（1850—1929), Doctor of Laws, Cherbourg Naval Engineering School, France, 1880s.

The Hong Kong section of the Kowloon-Canton Railway (KCR) was completed and opened to traffic. [Tsim Sha Tsui–Yau Ma Tei–Sha Tin–Tai Po–Tai Po Market–Fanling]

October 5, 1911: The Hong Kong-Guangzhou Through Train officially commenced service.

October 8, 1911: The Mainland Chinese section of the KCR was completed and opened to traffic. [The Chinese and British sections connect at Lo Wu Bridge]

April 1, 1912: The Fanling Station to Sha Tau Kok Station branch line of the KCR opened. [Fanling–Hung Ling –Wo Hang –Shek Chung Au –Sha Tau Kok] ［粉嶺 – 洪嶺 – 禾坑 – 石涌凹 – 沙頭角］
