Rose Apple - Syzygium Jambos

Rose Apple - Syzygium Jambos, by h9430500

By far, my number one fruit was Syzygium Jambos (rose apple), they were all over the old peak road in the 60s, but there was one catch, rose apple tree were very tall, and mature sweet ones were at least 3 metre high !

The solution was a 14 foot bamboo stick that I hided in the old peak road, from May through November, plenty of rose apple, sometime I got 2 dozen in a day !

Now the horror story - not only human being interested in this
fruit, you know the flying snakes were at it as well !

I learned my lesson, once I was swung my bamboo stick and pulled those mature one down, the flying snake came down with the fruits, scared the heck out of me !

From then on, I would made sure there were no snake in the tree before I acted.

Syzygium Jambos is a species of rose apple originating in Southeast Asia and occurring widely elsewhere, having been introduced as an ornamental and fruit tree.
