Ceremony of what kind ?

If I recall correctly, the photo has to do with the raising of the Union Jack at Tai Po in 1899. Seen at:https://gwulo.com/media/40849

I seem to recall this image was of the flag-rasing ceremony in Tai Po for the 1898 start of the NT lease. However, the ceremony was held in (April?) 1899, the following year. It's possible I have my matsheds mixed up though...

Thanks Klaus. So this was a few months after the flag raising and subsequent "Six Day War".

The temporary government buildings would be up the hill and not in view.
