Dr Sun Historical Trail, To Tsai Church (1st gen)

This information plate was at 59 Hollywood Road. It tries to depict the site of the original 'To Tsai Church'. Such plates could curate clear info and photos on both sides, by design. The church photo is from c.1921.

It was numbered spot #9 of the historical trail then. I reckon this is from an earlier time of the trail (link). This 1st generation spanned the period around 2000-2016, expanded to add two more spots c.2006. This development can be traced from some wikipedia posts. Before these fixed standing signages, red oval copper plates, some with stands, were used to signify the locations, as information cited on a lib.hku.hk topical webpage (sample photo).

By the way, this photo happens to capture the widely known century-old rice shop (right) and sugar cane juice shop (left) partly, across Hollywood Road.
