1979 - H.K.U.'s V.C.'s residence

This image of the Vice-Chancellor’s streamline moderne styled residence, known as University Lodge, was captured by Dr Hugh Baker, and is reproduced in his book: Baker, Hugh, More Ancestral Images: A Second Hong Kong Album, South China Morning Post Limited, Hong Kong 1980.

Having been a somewhat rebellious young university student in my time, I am left amused by Dr Baker’s observation that the V.C.’s cannon, as mounted in his front garden, is pointed in the direction of the Students’ Union!
