This photo of Jardine's Lookout was, I believe, taken by Bill Macfarlane, a HK Electric employee who lived at "Cavendish Heights", from where the photo was probably taken circa 1961 (and posted online a few years ago by his daughter). The houses at the front are on Perkins Road. The road you can see adjacent to it, centre right, is Creasy Road. The long low building on Creasy Rd was some sort of community centre and the little building adjoining it on its left (which looks like a garage) was what we kids called "The Chinese Shop" (like there weren't any other Chinese shops in HK!) and where we used to walk to from Cavendish as little kids to buy our sour plums, "wah mois", dried beef and lemon peel, etc. In the distance on the right, the taller white building is possibly "Garden Mansion" on Tai Hang Road, at the top of Broadwood Road. I wonder how many of these houses and other buildings are still there? Mt Nicholson at the back?
