香港でも同様のスパイ事件發生
防備施設の大改正行はる
A similar espionage incident (Shinozaki Case in Singapore) occurred in Hong Kong (1940).
Major revisions to defense facilities were carried out.
A British garrison soldier, along with Getsuro Yamaguchi (山口月郎) , was involved in an espionage case. On August 2, the soldier confessed to his superiors that Yamaguchi instructed him to draw maps of Hong Kong's defense facilities, including artillery and ammunition depots, and to create a detailed intelligence plan. The soldier said he hadn't sold the maps due to guilt. British authorities arrested Yamaguchi, searched the soldier's belongings, and found the maps. Though they believed the maps weren't sold, the Hong Kong British government quickly revised military defense plans to counter potential threats.
