Shows a very young racecourse, in the Wikipedia attributed to the late 1840s, but could also be taken 10-20 years later. Possibly the photo from which the painting was derived is Happy Valley Racecourse c1860s. Possibly the stands at the racecourse could give a better time estimate.
Although a painting, it looks very realistic.
An interesting detail is visible in the foreground: the Bowrington Old Bridge.
