Hi Moddsey, thanks for posting this pic. I think your guess is correct for the following reasons.
Ebordale, the large house in the bottom left of the photo was completed in early 1904. In the photo it doesn’t have the bright, flawless, paintwork associated with brand new buildings, suggesting the photo was taken at least one year after its completion – say 1905 or later.
RBL 117 is seen near the left edge of the photo – the excavated site just above the line of Mount Kellett Road. It’s where the house named Kenlis would be built. The 1907 Peak Renumbering Exercise, published on 2 Aug 1907, described it as a “new house”. Assuming it must have taken at least 6 months to build, construction could not have started after February 1907. As the photo shows no evidence of construction, the photo must have been taken in early 1907 at the latest.
So I think the date range is from 1905 to early 1907.
