The photo commemorates the christening of my cousin, Geoffrey Beal Warren, invisible among his christening robes, but well protected from the August sun. His mother Cicely Warren is on the left. The person holding the baby may well be Alice Randle, a nurse at the Peak Hospital who became a close friend of Cicely's. On the right is Mrs. Ellen Whiteley, Geoffrey's godmother and the Warrens' neighbour at 17 Broadwood Road.
